Koobi Fora Project Team

Research Team

The Koobi Fora Research Project is led by a team of remarkable fossil hunters. They spend many hours under the hot sun patiently searching for and excavating prehistoric remains from this remote area. Without their expertise and sharp eyes, very little would be discovered. Since 1968, the team has made major finds, including the Turkana Boy (Homo erectus), a new species called Kenyanthropus platyops, a newly discovered 1.5 million year-old skull.
